My only complaint was that I was expected to pay a daily rate of Euro10 to park my hired car at the Hotel. The nearest off road parking was a few hundred metres away across the busy road.
When I complained that I did not expect to book a 5 star Hotel and have to pay for the priviledge of parking my car I was referred to a female Manager who agreed that my 2 week stay costing Euro 140 for parking was too much.
She offered me a fee of Euro50 for my stay which I reluctantly accepted, in order to have my car in a relatively secure place.
Would I go back to this Hotel....... yes but without a car. I would be cheaper asking my car hire company to deliver the car each morning to me,which they said they would. << Click here to read less

My wife and I stayed at the Torrequebrada Hotel for 6 nights and found the hotel to be of a very good standard. A few minor complaints made the holiday annoying:
1- On arrival to the room the room safe was not working. The reception was informed on three occasions to fix it, where a Security Guard viewed the safe and said it was the batteries - nothing was done. Then a manitainance man viewed the safe and said the batteries had gone - nothing was done to fix it. We was all week without a safe.
2- The cleaner never reached our room to clean before 5pm in order to clean.

I travelled to the hotel with a group of 11 and am also commenting on their behalf, we were all pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel, it was excellent. The staff were also fantastic. the views over the sea were amazing. We had a blast and the same 11 in the group are all keen to re-book for the same time next year. One word of warning is the local taxi drivers appear to charge you as much as they can get away with, which i surpose is quite common even in my own city. Most things were excellent,we really enjoyed our stay due partly to the fantastic weather,the selection at breakfast we great,the rooms were good and very clean,the resturants were fine but the hotel was really,really quiet which was fine by me,no waiting for lifts,service and you could get a bed by the pool no bother,what its like when its full i wouldnt know but would think u may be in trouble,the one downside is the actual positioning of the hotel you are quite away from the main area of benalmadena,we spend a fortune on cabs its 7/8 euros from the hotel to the marina and town centre.Would i stay here again--YES << Click here to read less

Staff are not prepared to go out og their way and often make you feel awkward for asking for assistance. Our booking was mixed up and we were given an inferior room. We very much enjoyed our holiday in The Torrequebrada Hotel. We stayed there for one week. Upon arrival, it appears that we were given one of the disabled rooms - the shower was very low and difficult to use. Also we noticed alot of the rooms, including ours, were two twin beds pushed together to make a double bed. We aske them to change rooms and they were very co-operative and the next day we were moved to a room with proper shower and king size bed at no extra charge. The breakfast in t he hotel was great every morning, and the pool was fabulous with sunbeds and free towels provided to all guests. It was a long walk from the square/marina so we took taxis at a cost of 8eur. The Casino in the hotel is well worth a visit. This is the third time we have used this hotel and find the facilities very good, although it is a good walk away from the many restaurants and the marina which we dont mind. If you like golf there is the Torrequebrada golf course just a few miniutes down the road. A wonderful Casino is also contained within the hotel complex. << Click here to read less

The only thing which I would like to see is better entertainment in the piano bar. They used to have a female singer, who was absolutely excellent, but she is no longer there. The pianist does not seem to be popular - most guests leave the bar when he performs!
Apart from this, I found the hotel very good value - although they are in the still in the process of upgrading some of the rooms.
I look forward to my next visit, as I find the area very quiet and peaceful - although the noisier facilities afforded in Fuengirola and Benalmadena town are only a sort distance away. << Click here to read less

I tried the spa which was ok but no where near what you would expect from a 5 star. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff were excellent. The Torrequebrada is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location if you want somewhere a bit out of the way and away from the hustle and bustle of the busy centre. We stayed for the weekend and caught a taxi from the centre to the hotel (7Euros) but walked it the next night (about 1 hour along the prom).
The pool location is beautiful, however, the beaches were very disappointing.
The food was buffet style but delicious all the same and full of choice.

Good supermarket just accross the road.
They need 2 items to be great.
1.ice machine on each floor
2. cold drinks machine somewhere.

Poolside bar was only open at weekends, or when guests insisted that it opened.
Considering it is a 5 star hotel, I found the food very disappointing.
I had a nasty experience when returning a towel to the pool attendant's hut. There was a black chap standing by him and the system they have means that you have to give your room number to cancel the booking of the towel. When I went inside the hotel to go to my room, the black chap followed me into the lift and got out at the same floor as me. I felt very vulnerable, as he did not seem to know which way to turn and was waiting for me to make the first move. I immediately got back into the lift and went to reception and reported the incident. They alerted Security, but he had got away.
As he knew my room number, which was on the first floor immediately above the piano bar, they moved me to the third floor.
As a result of this incident, I feel that they should tighten up on their general security (the gate to the beach is left open, as the mechanism is broken. This was also broken when I stayed there in July last year!
The escalators to the lower floors were only put into service at weekends.
Another couple from London cut short their holiday, as they were so disappointed with the hotel.
I do like the position of the hotel, but feel that the management should make more effort to provide a better standard of service generally. << Click here to read less
