The hotel staff were excellent and very helpful. The location pool areas are firstclass. The buffet is fair and very edible, although they could make a better choice for desserts, the same thing every night. The crockery is very bad though we had to look hard for an unchipped cup and cereal bowl at breakfast. There is less care taken of the physical aspect of the hotel.One major drawback is the fact that the fridges have been removed from the bedrooms. This is not acceptable in a warm climate. we stayed for 4 nights in november 08, 6 adults. we were very impressed with the standard and cleanliness of the rooms and all public areas. our worries after reading other reviews were not needed! the hotel is set up in the hills so a car is essential. restaurant ramos (2 mins walk from hotel) is definitely worth a visit. delicious! we visit the area a few times per year to see family and usually stay at the AGH, the El Paraiso is not as luxurious but the location gardens etc are fab. if you like a few bars in walking distance then i would really recommend the AGH, but if you just want to relax then the El Paraiso is more suitable. Breakfast very good, ask the chef to make you a lovely fresh omelette. yummy! << click here to read less

This hotel is situated on top of a hill and it affords great views of the area and across to Gibraltar and Afica, a truly great location. It is clear that this hotel has seen some great times in the past but it now looks a little bit tired and could do with bit of money spending on it. Whilst you can get fresh omlettes cooked, the breakfasts were in fact a little on the cold side. The gardens and swimming pool are excellent and the indoor pool and jaccuzzi were well used as the weather during our visit was pretty poor. Overall I( was pleased with the El Paraiso and would not hesitate to go there again, but only if they keep their prices down, as this holiday was excellent value for money. If i had paid more then I wouldn`t have been so keen. It is more 3 star than 4star. Overall a good hotel but could be a great hotel, it needs some TLC. << click here to read less

Shame about the white plastic cups in the bathroom and the non-existant toiletries though. We found the hotel staff excellent and very experienced. The only disappointment is that the diningroom is a little mundane, but the area has very good restaurants nearby. We have stayed in this hotel for over 30 years. It is an excellent location on a hill with views down to the sea. The rooms are spacious, although a little tired, as are certain of the public areas. The best feature is the outstanding garden, where there are plenty of loungers, surrounding a large outdoor pool with the added bonus of a heated indoor pool. Breakfasts are substantial but some of the accompaniments, such as the fruit juices are of poor quality. Lunches are good but the evening buffets disappoint. This was our 4th visit to El paraiso and we enjoyed our stay, Its position and location gardens are 5 star, but the hotel itself is tired and is now under new management and we understand that the hotel is to be refurbished to modern standards in 2008, our only critisim being the catering, we stayed on B+B basis, the breakfast suffered from lack of choice, what was available was not hot. also this year no fresh fruit of fruit juice what was their was tinned and the juce was out of a machine full of "E" numbers We have booked again for July and we hope things will be better << click here to read less

I was extremely pleased with the hotel and services offered. The price quoted was exeptional value and I most certainly could not have found a better deal myself. The ease and convenience of being able to book the reservation on line was also extremely convenient. It is, without doubt, the way that I shall make my hotel searches and bookings in future. There is only one suggestion that I would like to make about the Hotel El Paraiso details: It would be of immense help if directions to find the Hotel were more precise. the Hotel is situated quite a way off the A7 and there are little or no signs advising visitors of how to get to the Hotel. It was fortunate that I saw signs for Paraiso hills apartments which initiated my search that subsequently led me towards El Paraiso Golf Club - it was then that I saw a very small sign for the hotel. Finding the hotel was made more difficult as it was approximately 2330 hours and very dark! Nevertheless, I am extremely satisfied with your service and would recommend it to anyone that needed to find accommodation in Spain. Thank you for a very exceptional service.
