Overlooking a soft mossy carpet of green speckled with sandy islets that is the 2 beautiful 18-hole, par-72 golf courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, the Byblos And Aluz rules supreme in the peaceful Mijas countryside. A typical Andalusian village of white sugar cube houses, red tile roofs, a web of narrow cobbled streets complete with terraces crimson geraniums and the occasional chirruping canary. Halfway between Malaga Airport and Marbella, the hotel is in a perfect peaceful oasis offering the greatest escape.

Inside, the Moors invade again, but this time the Western architecture and Andalusian patios blends harmoniously with Moorish accents. Dining is a delight with Le Nailhac serving for French a la carte cuisine, El Andaluz cooks up regional specialties and diet meals, La Fuente kick starts the day with breakfast and Saint Tropez Bar is great for cocktails and snacks. 4 banquet and convention rooms, in and out pools, 5 tennis courts, 2 golf courses and a Thalassotherapy Center. No wonder it is famous the wold over.

A wondrous mix of exotic Moorish, magical Andalusian and beautiful Western decor unite to offer the most restful and soothing abode with a refined atmosphere. The rooms are in utter luxury offering all of today's amenities, comforts and so much more.

This hotel in its heyday would have been a most majestic and impressive hotel, sadly however, it now as a tired appearence and requiring some tlc. Staff throughout our stay were superb, the rooms were spotless, bed linen, towels etc changed daily and in beautiful condition, again the bedrooms are spacious but very dated and basic for 5 star standad with TV channels scarce and expensive. We stayed on a B&B rate and the breakfast buffet was good and extensive, although the quality of the hot dishes on offer were of a mediocre standard and no fresh milk on offer, an absolute must for me unfortunately. The grounds and surrounding are magnificient and very peaceful. In general a very nice hotel, clean and elegant, dated and requiring a lot of investment to bring it back to its former glories, and upto the supposed 5 star rating. Read Less
