This was a budget choice but not a budget establishment. My room was basic but freshly decorated. I had a sea view and a balcony. On a value for money basis it was superb. I had clean towels and the cleanliness was excellent. There is an all night bar service and a clean pool with loungers. The hotel is easy to get to by train from Malaga airport by way of the train that rolls along the coast. Just get off at El Pinillo, 16 minutes away (1.20 Euro) and then walk down the hill - about ten or fifteen minutes. The hotel is at the nicer end of Torre and the beach is a 2 minute walk, with a nice promenande to walk along to Benalmadena with lots of nice seafood restaurants on the way. << click here to read less |

The only gripe I would have is that the noise from people walking around, doors closing and furniture being dragged tends to either keep you awake at night, or wake you in the morning. The bar is great, but it does close for an hour between 8am ; 9am every day for cleaning!!! Some of the staff can come across as a little surly but try your Spanish and it will get you half a smile! We were in a group of 8 and everybody seemed ok with the hotel, it was after all The bargain of the century! 5 mins walk to the beach, 10 mins to The Marina and 20 mins walk into Torremolinos, Great! << click here to read less |

The cost was modest so we did not expect luxury! The style and decor were tired but the hotel was clean. We returned each day to find the room tidied, the beds made, the towels replaced and the bathroom cleaned. Inclusion of breakfast was instrumental in our selection and estimate of value. Though basic, both hot and cold buffet dishes were monitored and constantly replenished. We visited in November 2008 but reception advised that Breakfast would not be served from 2009; the hotel would be Accommodation Only! Finding food is no problem, there are many cafes and restaurants within a few hundred metres but, without breakfast, our Quality vs Price assessment might be different; it would depend on what tarrif adjustments were made. For us, location was great. Quiet; parking immediately outside the hotel or in the square behind (but it was November!); two minutes walk to the promenade where you stroll left to Torremolinos or right to Benalmadina soon arriving at the very attractive Benalmadina Marina, full of shops, bars, restaurants, boats and lots of people-watching. If your expectations are sensible and realistic and you are simply seeking a tidy base with clean bed and bathroom (never lacking in hot water), based on our experience, this hotel should be on your list. << click here to read less |

The buffet style breakfast is excellent, offering both continental ; full english!! The location is excellent for the beach and is close to many good bars and eating places. A bus stop to major locations is 5 minutes walk away, ; the train station at Montmar is a 10 minute walk.Just had a week there in November and in all honesty could not have wished for a better base to stay. << click here to read less |

Reception gave out no information upon arrival. When we asked about hotel dining arrangements, we were misinformed, leading to the "manager"/barman shouting and trying to humiliate us in front of other guests when we brought our own food. After this, the owner/manageress was "off" with us throughout the holiday.
Cleanliness:
Minimal. Room floor not swept or washed.
Faulty plumbing leading to sewer smells entering room via the bathroom.
Beds: Hard as boards.
Pool:
Thick layer of algae on pool sides (people had scratched their names in it!) Cloudy looking at the deep end. Certainly a health hazard.
Health ; safety:
Metal staircase leading to the sun terrace was rusted. Piece of a rusty rail projected out, risking serious injury to users of the terrace. Pool area and sun terrace not cleaned.
Shower: Either cold or scalding hot - risking burns.
Noise:
Rowdy guests whose behaviour includes screaming and fighting drunkenly at 2-3 am in the morning, groups of women who come in drunk, slamming doors and making noise in the early hours. Groups of inebriated men taking over the pool area and leering and hooting at women at the pool.
The problem here is that the management refused to address these issues, resulting in an unpleasant experience for the other guests.
Overall, a rundown and tired hotel - we won't be returning or recommending the El Tiburon as it is.

I was recomended this hotel by a friend who visited the hotel in March 2008. I arrived with my husband on 30/06/2008 for a ten day stay. We were greeted by a very pleasant male receptionist on arrival. Taxi was 18 Euros from the airport. (10-15 min journey). . Breakfast was typical cereal and English cooked breakfast or continental rolls and cold meat /cheese, you can help yourself to as much or little as you want. great choice for all. The hotel is in a perfect position for the beach and surrounding restaurants, English food for the less adventurous, plenty of delicious Spanish food, great if you enjoy fresh fish dishes. For Chinese food fans go to the Wok on top of Pizza Hut in Belamadena Marina. All you can eat with starter main and desert for 12.95 Euros per adult or 6.00 euros per child. All the meat and fish is raw for you to take to the chef ,who will either cook the food in a wok with your choice of sauce, or to grill, the choice is yours. It is well worth a visit. As for the El Tiburon I have booked to return for two weeks next July. Great value for money in an ideal location. << click here to read less |

There was no way to keep drinks/food cold in room, and when asked for just ice from the bar we were told we needed to buy a drink (which is significantly more than buying at supermacado!). Cleaned evey day.

This is a gem of a hotel in a delightful quiet Spanish resort but just a mile or so away from the hustle and bustle of Torremolinos one one side and Benalmadena to the other.
The rooms were serviced every day with fresh bedding and towels (betcha don't get that on a package holiday!)and the room also had satellite tv which was an unexpected bonus.
I enjoyed my stay so much i am going to return again in September.

We just back from a beautiful holiday here took the train from Malaga airport cost 2.70 each to torremolinos then got taxi to hotel cost 6 euro which was handy.We found the hotel to be in a perfect location a small walk from beach and loads of shops restaurants and bars but far enough away to be peaceful. Nice friendly staff daily room cleaning.Lock wasn't workin on sliding door out to balcony so we slid spoon along it so noone could get in. Buffet breakfast was fine but I didn't like the tea and the juice supplied was very sweet.Can't wait to go again so much to see and do and this area very central. The hotel was basic in regards to the room and the facilities but was adiquate as we were only there for three nights. Although we were only bed and breakfast the breakfast was was good value for the money as was the whole trip. The area was quiet but nice, the marina is only about 20 minutes walk as is Toramolinos town with lots on nice cafes, bars and restaurants on the way. Breakfast offers a simple range of tastes from eggs and bacon to cereals etc. Its a small hotel and doesnt get crowded like most stompedes in other hotels visited. Location to restaurants, bars,beach etc excellent.
If you have a balcony room - you have wonderful views, this compensates for the rooms being slightly smaller than the front road rooms.The road apparently is not that noisy though.
Upgrading of the hotel is evident that it is needed in some parts - but come on - what you pay for - is what you get....and what we got was more than adequate.
This hotel is in a quiet area of Torremolinos and after about 11.30 all you can hear is the sound of the sea - not noisy bars - bliss.....However, if you do want the nightlife, go out of the hotel, turn left and go about half a mile - you`ll come across the Rose ; Crown - best place for English food if thats what you want - Jan the host is most welcoming and twice a week there is entertainment from "Charitie Case", the Costa Del Sols ONLY drag artist - FAB ENTERTAINMENT with "Billy No-Legs" accompanying.
It has to be said that this is not a hotel for families with small children as there are no facilities ie: kids club, but apart from that there is a pool table, english tv`s in rooms ; a good pool - although NOT heated brrrrr.
Apart from the grumpy lady on reception in the mornings, the rest of the staff were wonderful - very helpful, even in a crisis - 1 of our party was mugged - all were extremely helpful.

A LOVELY LITTLE HOTEL TO WHICH WE WILL RETURN IN A GOOD AREA FOR EVERYTHING.
THE ONLY MINOR POINT WE WOULD RAISE IS THE REPETITIVE BREAKFAST MENU.
THE SAME MENU EVERY MORNING , THERE WAS NO FRESH FRUIT OFFERED AND FOR US THE FRUIT JUICE, TEA AND COFFEE FROM THE MACHINES WAS UNDRINKABLE
WE PURCHASED COFFEE SACHETS AND JUST USED THE HOT WATER AND
