Just returned from a weeks stay at the el cid and found the hotel very good value for money! Only used the pool on our 1st day as sadly had bad weather for remainder of the week. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels every day also location is exellent really central we got the mon bus from the airport which drops you right outside the hotel! The night porter Jimmy is really friendly although his english is abit limited breakfast was basic but plenty of it! Overall el cid was a very good value for money hotel. More >> |

El Cid has great things to offer, the staff are friendly and helpful, the location is right in the thick of it, the breakfast is fresh and plentiful. The hotel decor is a little dated but has great charm. The only thing i will say is that if you are going mid summer there is no air conditioning which would be the one thing to stop me going in high season again. I will be the first back if you do install it. Thanks for your hospitality. More >> |

The hotel is a little basic but very good location and quite ,the rooms are a little on the small size , we asked if we could change rooms as there was 3 of us ,in what i would class as a normal double room not a triple ,which they did so we were pleased .very friendly service and staff was good .Most of the hotel is gay or gay freindly . nice pool area also. Breakfast was plentyful and good , buffet style of cheese/meats no fried breaky! For what we paid I would rate this place as very good. More >> |

The room was fine, a bit jaded and in need of updating and floors were not very clean. However, the bedding and towels were clean which we thought was the most important bit! The shower was dangerously hot/cold so we had to be very careful when in it. We had a great terrace and the fan in the room was on constantly so that even in very high temperatures the room was always cool enough to sleep. Breakfast was fine except the drinks - coffee was awful and juice was made from concentrate and wasn't mixed properly so was very strong and undrinkable. Overall it was good value for money but I would have been VERY upset if we had paid normal room rate More >> |

The hotel El Cid is an old traditional spanish hotel with original old spanish Th, unlike the faceless hotels we are used to. It is spotlessly clean and the room we had at the top of the hotel with large balcony was ideal for us as we are an older couple and wanted a quiet room. The rooms are furnished in a quaint old fashioned way that does not seem to have changed since we were last in Sitges 35 years ago!!!! The staff are very welcoming and for value for money this hotel is great and in a great location too, centrally placed for everything. There is even a small swimming pool. We had read varying reports on this hotel before we left and a lot of comments were about the lady who worked in the dining room for the breakfast sitting and how miserable she was. The thing we noticed was that no one spoke to her at all!!!We always went out of our way to smile and say good morning (in spanish of course) and we were always rewarded with a smile back and a salutation. It could be quite noisy at times especially when people came in late and slammed doors!!! All in all we thought this hotel was great value for money in a terrific location. If you want new and modern do not go, if you want Spanish character, then do go!!! It reminded us of our hitchhiking days around Spain all those years ago!!! Angie and Jim. More >> |
