this hotel was great. We went for the last two years and most recently sent our parents for a week and they also loved it. food grreat, staff friendly place overall great. Only thing i would say is that the entertainment in the surrounding hotels is much better than at this hotel. Its a pity as everything else is perfect. So pleassssse upgrade your entertainment its the only thing that would make me consider the other hotels nearby. Apart from this you couldn't ask for a nicer place tospend your hols. Read Less |

Family hotel, entertainment at night really interesting. Prices in hotel and surrounding area very reasonable. If looking for a cheap holiday and basic good accomadation then stay here. Salou has a whole is average. Theme park is the best , fantastic for all the family. We have stayed in the portaventura hotel last year and was much much more expensive but if you are looking for convienience andextremely family orientated i would stay at port aventura park hotel. We paid ?151 for 2 adults and two children for one day and this is only into the port.a park not the water park. on a note withregard to the villaromana hotel we did half board for an extremely cheap price and it was worth it. The pool area is very nice with a lovely clean pool.. However i like to go where a place is wspecailly geared towards families and the port aventura hotel is that, but it will cost you. Read Less |

I stayed with my 5 year old Daughter over the Whitsun holiday, staying for 7 days on Full Board.
Hotel staff and Entertainment team were all very friendly and helpful.
Food was varied and of a good standard, only complaint would be- not enough broccoli, as this is the only vegetable my Daughter will eat.
Pool and sunbathing area clean but does get busy, so get your towels down early!
Waterpark/Theme Park 10 mins. up the hill ( hard work in the sun ) and beach 10 mins. the other way, so ideally located.
Kids Club, my Daughter loved it but then she enjoys after school club and Anna was brilliant ( good looking too! )
Entertainment, if you want Las Vegas standard then go to Las Vegas and pay for it. For me, I don't mind a cheesy groan and anyone who can keep 30+ children in awe for an hour ( Alex ), gets my vote. If you don't like it, you can always walk into town.
The hotel is very international, with French,Belgian,Dutch,Russian,German and Spanish all there during our stay with no problems.
Overall excellent value for money and the next time I return to Salou, I will definitely stay here again.
Top tip for a more pleasant holiday, try to learn a little Spanish. A 'please and thankyou' goes a long way in any language. Read Less |

This hotel represents good value for money. We found the staff helpfull and pleasant in general. The rooms are adequate qnd quite well appointed. Food at breakfast and dinner was plentiful and reasonably varied. In particular the show cooking of eggs/omlettes at breakfast and fish/meat/pizza in the evenings was very good. Prices of drinks in the bars and wine at table were reasonable. Public areas and entertainment could be better but the hotel is quite well located for other attractions in the town. I would stay again. Read Less |

Still good, but on our third visit in three years, there has been a noticeable decline in general decor and quality e.g. the juice glasses at breakfast were virtually all filthy (not just water marks, actual gunk stuck solidly to the glasses); it was more or less impossible to find a properly clean glass. Excellent value for money; a five minute walk to Salou and little more to PortAventura theme park. Decent buffets for Breakfast and Dinner. Friends in a theme park Hotel (Caribe) were disappointed in theirs so Romana proved the best choice. Good reception staff, clean rooms, I was on the 5th floor so quiet (when the hotel over the way wasn't in full disco mode...). Would definitely recommend, and would stay again (although watch out in your room; I popped up to Barcelona - there's a train station near the park - and bought some food from the market there; the maid stole it.) I have been to salou several times in the past but was the first time in this hotel. The hotel itself was nice, with all facilities that you need. The staff were friendly and understood english very well. The hotel was situated perfectly to the beach, centre of salou and port aventura, and far enough away from the noise of the town centre. The room was a perfect size for us being a couple but could be quite cramped for a family! I went full board and was impressed with the resturant's variety and quality for all meals. The entertainment was excellent as there was a variety for everyone. The only slight problem was that we had to get up a little earlier to put towels down on the loungers by the pool as if left to after breakfast there were hardly any loungers left! I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone as the price for what you get is great. Read Less |

The hotel was lovely but with average facilities/activities. The staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times. The location was great because it was within walking distance to everything - the town, the beach, Portavenura and the water park. The rooms were average and cleaned daily. The best thing about this hotel was the food, this was outstanding with a very wide choice available daily and lots of lovely delights cooked in front of you, we enjoyed this the most. The only bad thing I could say is that you were very lucky if you could get a sun lounger at the pool - it was the usual story, people leaving towels on loungers from six in the morning even if they weren't using them and this is meant to be banned in this hotel - but we weren't able to get a lounger during our entire 2 weeks!! Just returned from 7 nights in Vil.La Romana. The hotel was really nice, the food was great, the reception staff could'nt do enough for us, the mini club for the kids was good too. I ordered a birthday cake for my daughters birthday the evening before her birthday and they brought it out at breakfast, they had iced it with her name and age, it was great - they also brought us out a bottle of champagne - on the house! The only thing that let it down slightly was the evening entertainment, but having said that I'm sure they done their best. I would go back to this hotel. Read Less |

Hotal Villa Romana as an initial overall made our holiday. Salou in itself i feel, was the let down.
We arrived at the hotel with the taxi driver giving us the thumbs up for our choice in hotel which made us very pleased.
The receptionists were indeed very busy but with the volume of people coped very well and were great.
Our room was lovely, the only thing being we didin't get any sun near our room at any time of the day which was unfortunate.
We were half board and Breakfast & Dinner were amazing, such a vast choice although i will admit i ate the same thing every morning and night (i am a fussy eater though).
The hotel safe was a bit of a con ie everyone needs a safe place for there belongings and Hotel Villa Romana charge 22 euros for the week but i thot that was a deposit, no, thats the price you pay, although it gave us peace of mind knowing everything was locked up.
Good situation for theme parks and central stuff but as a whole my partener and i felt Salou lacked a lot (it's like a sunny Blackpool) and we were bored after 4/5 days into our holiday.
Pay attention to whats open at PortAventura & Caribe as we got ripped off ie they took our admittance fee and when we entered especailly to Caribe everything was closed down and they wouldn't give our money back.
Basically, the enjoyment of Villa Romana saved our holiday but if Salou is your choice of destination, Villa Romana is the place to go. Read Less |

The hotel is situated about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the beach, which in April was a leisurely stroll passing supermarkets and shops on the way, handy to stock up for the beach. The food was excellent and so was the room, as ours overlooked the outdoor pool. The choice of food was buffet style which accounted for all tastes, I can not emphasise how good it was, but I put on several pounds. The temperature of the outdoor pool was very cold, so I used the indoor pool, sauna etc which are excellent facilities, at times I was the only one in there. No doubt this will not be the case during bank holidays and high season. We had a lovely holiday and would recommend this hotel. Read Less |

We are a family of 4, 2 children age 14 and 9.
This hotel really does not live up to a 4 star rating. Yes it has the facilities on paper, but...
The restaurant staff were abrupt and rude. The food was buffet style, often luke warm and very 'sloppy'. The sunbeds were at a premium (as usual) so set the alarm clock.
Just generally basic all round.
After dinner, you had to queue before leaving the restaurant to pay your bill - bizarre! Their were sometimes 15 - 20 people in the queue!
