The hotel was approximately 20 minute walk from the centre of Salou. The hotel was lovely with great facilities and entertainment however the room was very small and the fold out bed was of poor quality, it kept collapsing. Also, it was very difficult to get a sunbed at the pool as people were reserving them with towels at 10am when the pool opened even though this was supposedly not alloweed. It was normally between 3 and 4pm before any sun beds would become available. We stayed half board at the hotel and this proved to be very good value. << Click here to read less

Having stayed at this hotel 1 year ago, the standards have now slipped. In my opinion this hotel is not now worthy of a four star rating. The standard and choice of food is down on 1 year ago. The hotel is now in need of an urgent, re furbishment. There were workmen repairing tiles in the pull during the day. A set of goal posts lie broken at the childrens sports pitch, The pool tables are of a poor standard but cost 2 euros per game. The table tennis table is also of poor quality but also costs 2 euros. There are not enough sun beds to accomodate all the guests requiring one, leaving some guests dissapointed. There are also no sun shades for the beds by the pool. Some of the staff are friendly but others are not. << Click here to read less

We went to Salou from 11th July 2008 to 18th July staying at the Regina Gran. The hotel is very clean, staff are friendly and helpful, and its a really nice place. The selection of food was very good. I cant think of one complaint. One small recommendation......the hotel should retain the food for the evening meal a little hotter. Its buffet style and we found that it was a little low in heat (wasnt cold though !!). We would definitely go back.

After reading several reviews i travelled with an open mind not knowing what to expect and on arriving was pleasantly suprised with what we got. The hotel offered many facilities that kept us entertained throughout the day. The rooms were nice and kept very clean every day. The pool was beautiful and the location was about a ten minute walk to the beach. The staff were really nice and very friendly. The only let down was the food in the restaraunt which we did not enjoy at all, but it is worth paying for the breakfast deal on its own (b+b). All in all i would definitley go back to this hotel and salou, as we really enjoyed it. Also the hotel was only a ten minute taxi ride to portaventura and the water park. << Click here to read less

The early full board offer was excellent value for money. Overall our stay was very good. The hotel staff to a person were very helpfull and excellent. The selection of food was also excellent as there was somthing for everyone.
There was only 2 flaws, the first was i felt the "quad" room was small and became very cluttered with 3 suitcases. The second was the quality/variety of potatoes on offer. I thought this was the only problem with the food. I took chips most days instead of potatoes.
We had a fantastic time and we would definitly stay agian. Its close proximity to the beaches and indeed the Porta Ventura theme park made it an excellent central location.

This was the second time that we have stayed at this hotel. We find the facilities excellent, location great for a visit to Porta Ventura theme park, about 12-15 min walk or 5 min by fun train. The food is good but could be more varied. The entertainment is great and varied and the indoor pool and sport facilites are superb. thought the staff at the hotel were very arragont, the spanish at the resort were very rude.salou beach was just like blackpool. i thought i would try somewhere different because every year we go to majorca, but i would most definetly stick with majorca cleaner beaches, and you feelsafe on the beach, you can relax, not on salou beach. weather was awful as well that did'nt help. height of season as well.the regina gran could not cope with the hotel being full.you had to que to get in the restaurant, then the spanish hotel guests would just push in front of you. when you did get in you had to search for a cup, then cutlery, be time you sat down your meal was freezing, then you had to pay for your own drinks. i would not go back. to salou or regina gran. << Click here to read less

The only downside about the room to which we were allocated (No.2506) was that we were constantly troubled with ants. We persevered until the final day when we awoke to find that the number of ants had manifested itself into a full blown plague wih them all over one of the walls and inside our luggage. We complained to the hotel reception and they moved us to another room. I just wish we had mentioned it sooner! Otherwise, we were reasonably satisfied and would have little hesitation in recommending Rooms.net to any of our friends/family. << Click here to read less

Myself and my two boys spent a week in this hotel from 7/8/07-14/8/07. The Hotel was in a nice quite location even though it was situated just off the main road into Salou. The centre of Salou was only a 10 minute walk away. Its an ideal location if you have children and you don't want to be disturbed by the noisy nightlife of Salou. Portaventura was only a short bus ride/taxi away. The bus stop was only a 5 minute walk away and was cheap enough at ?1.25 per person. Entertainment in the Hotel was good most nights with some cultural shows (spanish, brazilian and polynesian). There was a kids club which my two boys didn't really take advantage of as we spent 2 days in Portaventura and 1 day in the Caribe Water Park. The food was good in the hotel with plenty of choice for both breakfast lunch and dinner. Drinks are not included in the half board price. We got a fabulous deal with 1 child place free so I feel we got excellent value for money. The outside pool I felt could have been a little warmer(so I would advise anyone to take a shower before getting in because it makes it easier. Sunbeds at the pool are taken up quite early and would generally be gone by 10am but as we were holidaying at peak time I would have expected that. In saying that any day we did spend by the pool, we got sunbeds without much problem. Rooms were cleaned very well every single day and were air conditioned. I found most staff very helpful and friendly. I would go back again. << Click here to read less

The hotel claims that it is 4* but although my two children had a great time due to the number of friends they made I found the following faults: quality of the food was poor, the food although should be hot was lukewarm, the reception staff had a really bad attitude and had as much personality as a wet squid. It appeared that there whole purpose was to try and and make more money. I left a newspaper on my floor in my room one day and I received a very threatening note stating that they would charge me 20 euros a day extra if I did not dipose of my rubbish in the bins on the street - I was half board and I certaininly did not go on holiday to be a chambermaid However, to avoid additional cost I had no choice to do so. The walk to the beach is far especially if you have a young child. The railway line is close to the hotel with the obvious added noise this was not part of the the hotel review. The security on site was poor and basically the hotel was open to anyone, we were there for ten days and three people where either robbed in the vacinity of the hotel or had bags robbed from them whilst they were in the pool. We had a nasty experience with pickpockets when visiting Barcelona, the train had no security although the authorities are aware of the pick pockets operating. Salou itself was a nice resort but this hotel was very tired and the staff very miserable, they could do with sacking the lot of them and recruiting some happy people. << Click here to read less

We had a very good stay at the hotel the food was plentiful and a very good quality, the hotel rooms were very clean and tidy however a little cramped with two adults and two children.
The swimming pool area is rather small for the number of occupants when the hotel is full, the beds are very close together and there are no parasols provided, you need to consider this for shade if you have small babies.
The hotel was about a 15 minute walk up to portaventura which is an excellent location and only about 10 mins from the beach.
I would recommend this hotel for value for money. << Click here to read less

everything about this hotel--the outdoor pool and gardens, the indoor pool and gym ,the entertainment, was very good. There was one exception ,however. The dining room. This was a disaster.Hot food was laid out buffet style before guests had access to the dining room.Once the dining room was opened,a queue soon formed, which you joined with your cold plate in your hand. When for instance the potatoes ran out,you had to wait quite a while for them to be replenished.By now your already cold meat ,fish, chicken or whatever was getting even colder. In short,it was not possible to sit down to what was supposed to be a hot meal.On my first morning at breakfast, after having fruit juice,Iwent to get some cereal. When I came back my table had been cleared---tablecloth cutlery etc all gone.Idont blame the staff. It's a huge hotel, with a huge dining room and not enough staff, who are under pressure to get the table ready for the next guest.Iwent to get a cup of tea from the drinks machine. As my cup filled with boiling water,I saw drops of hot chocolate dripping into it.When I drew this to the attention of a staff member she informed me that nothing could be done about it as that was the way the machine worked.(fortunately I can get by in spanish,as none of the dining room staff had any english). To cut a long story short,a water boiler was provided the next morning.Unfortunately,it took a long time to boil, and as people were drawing from it all the time,it never got a chance to boil and was soon emp << Click here to read less

The hotel is really nice with good entertainment for the children during the day and at night. We have been to Salou 4 times previous and have always stayed in self catering accomodation- this time we went half board because of the poor quality food in the resort. The food was average but the desserts at lunch and dinner are excellent. Their were 4 of us staying in the hotel room - which was basically just a small double hotel room with a sofa bed. It was very cramped with not enough room for our cloethes etc in the wardrobes. However, we would stay again if there was an option of a bigger room. << Click here to read less

The hotel has excellent indoor exercise/relaxation facilities including a well equipped gym, sauna, steam room and indoor heated pool. These are available free from 11-6 to hotel guests. Before and after the it is 5 euro The outdoor facilities looked good but were not open during our stay which was for 6 nights at the end of February. We upgraded to a suite in the hotel and found this to be excellent value.
There is a large bar and a large outdoor terrace. There is also a small 'pub' where smoking is allowed.
The quality of the food was Ok but was not hot, get there early. There was always a large selection of salads/fish and meat.
Breakfast was standard fare but with lots of choice.
The receptionists were always helpful. on our last day the airport bus was due to pick us up before the breakfast room opened. However they arranged for us to have some breakfast early and gave us an early morning call.
