This is a beautiful hotel and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The rooms are cleaned daily and the hotel is spotless! It is very quiet at this time of year, most of the shops and restaurants/bars in the area were closed. Its only a short bus ride to Salou and Tarragona.

This hotel has a superb quality / price rating. Food is excellent and a I very enjoyed the Cava champagne at breakfast. The location in La Pineda (Salou) is enjoyable as it is close to the beach and the surrounding area is not overcrawded with shops but has e.g. a very nice boulevard for walking. The only very minor point for improvement is the evening entertaintment in the hotel, which is rather basic. But the latter will be a "plus" for those who like it quiet from the early evening.
The area of Salou-industrial region which is about 5 km away (petrochemical industry) is a bit spoiling the nice scenery from the beach; but once you get used its not that much ennoying anymore. If that industrial-area wouldn't be there, Pineda would just be a marvelous place. << click here to read less |

The Hotel was really fab. myself and Peter my husband had a very nice stay in the Hotel and we could not find fault with anything!!!!!!!!!!except the weather. Unfortunately it was a very mixed week weatherwise but none the less we did enjoy our stay in the Palas Pineda. I did miss the company of some Irish folk there. We meet some very nice English Ladies and we enjoyed their company. The rooms were excellent and cleaned every day. Food and drink we had no complaints about. We had a week fully inclusive which was very good and great value for money. One other thing I must mention they definitely had magic pillows in the bedroom as my husband never snored at for the week. I would recommend that the hotel staff would look at what type of guest they have as we were next to three teenagers which was not ideal with a family being woken at early hours. The all inclusive was good with breakfast, lunch and dinner and all local spirits, wines, beers and soft drinks but you could not get anything to eat apart from ice-cream and crisps out of meal times. There was a childrens disco every night but there was not a lot of other entertainment afterwards. The location was very good with just a few minutes to the beach and 5 minutes to the waterpark which was a must with the dolphin/sealion show and lots of slides. << click here to read less |

None of them appeared to want to be there and getting them to just acknowledge your existance was an uphill task. I have stayed in a lot of 4 and 5 stars hotels and was a little concerned when reading the reviews for this hotel on Trip Advisor. Some were pretty bad.
I'm glad to say that we were a party of 6 and the holiday was great. We booked all inclusive at a very reasonable price through this web site.
The hotel, rooms and the grounds were all kept spotless. The pool and children's entertainment were also perfect. Hardly seen the kids during the week we stayed except for meal times. The main pool is very spacious and recieves the sun all day therefore keeping the temperature of the pool nice and hot.
The food was also a treat and we never had a bad meal. Every few nights the buffet restaraunt had a theme (mexican/italian etc). Freshly grilled meats and fish were done for you as you waited in addition to the ready prepared food on the hot plate and salad bar. The fruit and deserts were also plentiful.
My only complaints would be the lack of information from the hotel regarding the whereabouts of the facilities and the lack of a proper snack bar for outwith dining hours. Having said given the excellent food if there had been a snack bar this probably would have ruined a lot of peoples appetite come meal time.
The hotel was also occupied by mainly Russian visitors. Obviously there culture is a little different and unlike the British they really don't like to queue as much. I never had any problems but I know this did annoy other British holiday makers. << click here to read less |

Negatives: Hotel mostly caters for Eastern Europems in terms of food and entertainment. Lots of fish dishes, prawns and squid (not a fish person).(Karoke 3 out of 7 nights). Meats tend to be cheaper cuts. Carpet on balconies in Palas 1 disgusting. No kids club. All Inclusive restaurant not as nice as half board one.
My recommendation would be to request Palas 2, half board (no disgusting carpets here). If I had, I would be giving this hotel 5 out of 5. << click here to read less |

no directions or instructions on arrival, took a while to find the pool area and he all inclusive facilities. the food was nie enough, but im not sure what i was eating as nothing is labelled (good job im an omnivore hehe.
Empty bars poolside whilst all inclusive queue downstairs was a bit off putting, but i cant complain because the deal was only #100 more for all inclusive. spent the days lazing by the pool and when out at night... best of both worlds really.
excellent for family's as the kids can eat themselves stupid on crisps and ice cream and all the soft drinks they can imbibe... all in all a highly recommended hotel << click here to read less |

Entrance is lovely.
Area is less developed than neighbouring Salou.
Very close to La Pineda Beach and promenade which has a variety of shops, bars and restaurants.
The staff have limited English but were very helpful.
We stayed all inclusive and the food was excellent. Very large choice of salads, variety of meat and fish wach day. Vegetables seemed to be served at lunch as oppose to dinner times. Bread was the only let down as it was not always as fresh as we would have preferred. Free wine was poor!
The entertainment lady who did the mini disco for the children was very good multi lingual - albeit the music was repetative every night and you went home on the plane with the songs going round your head!! The kids enjoyed it though. outdoor childrens entertainment on Sun but the entertainers spoke in Spainish - although they did their best to include the 3 year old we were with and she did win a little prize!Variety of entertainment after the mini disco the magic show was v good, there was also Karaoke.
The indoor pool is small but v nice caps req'd 3euro. Outdoor pools lovely but very cold in May.
Overall would rec this hotel and would go back. Seems accessible as lady in a wheelchair and we coped with the buggy. rooms decent size. << click here to read less |

We stayed at this hotel for four nights half board. The hotel was attractive, clean and well maintained. The food in the half-board restaurant was of very good quality and we really enjoyed our meals. The hotel was let down by some of the guests on the all inclusive package. They spent all day drinking and did not supervise their children at all who ran wild around the corridors on roller skates and played with the lifts. My children were made to use the stairs in order not to incovenience the other guests but my elderly parents had no choice but to use the lift and we spent a lot of time waiting for lifts whilst children played with them. On one occasion we made the mistake of entering a lift which already contained children. They obviously knew a combination of buttons to break it and we were trapped for some time which made my father, who has Parkinson's disease and a heart condition, feel very ill. He did not really recover for the rest of the holiday. My advice to this hotel would be a. to put notices up banning children from the lifts as they can easily use the stairs. and b. to cancel the all-inclusive programme which is really not doing any favours to a hotel of this star rating. it is a four star hotel with a one star ambience.Service was on occasion good but the receptionists were some of the most surly and disinterested I have ever met. I speak Spanish so this was not a language problem. The room-service maids were charming and the hotel was certainly immaculate. I << click here to read less |

Very clean hotel. Food was typically Spanish, but then, we were in Spain!! Absolutely NO entertainment whatsoever. Nothing for kids apart from the pool and a pretty dangerous playpark, but for couples without kids, this hotel would be great. Really close to the beach and shops. Waterpark very closeby, but expensive. Portaventora closeby, about 2 miles as the crow flies, but because of the roads, takes about 25 minutes by bus and about 10 minutes by taxi. 1.5 euro by bus, 14 euro by taxi.
Did not have any problems with queues in the hotel, but given the bar space for all-inclusive guests, I can see how it would be a problem in high season.
It was good value for money but given the lack of entertainment and trying to feed our youngest, don't think we'll be in any rush to go back! << click here to read less |

Really Beautiful location, a minute walk from stunning beach. 3 Swimming Pools at hotel - 2 outdoor and 1 indoor good for kids and adults alike. Water in outdoor pool quite cold, i think the sun didn't shine there for long enough during the day. Indoor pool looked nice too, my hubby and son went in there once, really cheeky out of control kids ruined it though, diving (which is not allowed) general chaos in the pool. staff approached these kids twice and eventually had to remove them. But these things happen.
Restaurant, cleaning and pub staff Really Really Nice, very welcoming. But as for Reception Staff, very poor manners, Very hard to communicate as they spoke very little english. They didn't really seemed interested in helping. Disappointing.
Food good at restaurant. We booked half board - We didn't realise until 3 days into holiday that there were 2 different restaurants in hotel, one for all-inclusive and the other restaurant then for people half board and paying directly. Half Board could use both restaurants but much nicer selection in the second restaurant. We discovered this by mistake. Of course reception staff didn't mention this when we were booking in.
Rooms very clean, cleaned every day new towels etc.
Overall I would rate this hotel 9 out of 10, it would have been 10 out of 10 only for reception staff << click here to read less |

However, I feel I should comment on the standard of cleanliness around the pool area and of the bathroom facilities in the hotel which I found to be disappointing. I don't know if it was due to staff shortages but there were cigerette butts EVERYWHERE!! In the lift, all around the pool, and snack bar area and it was disgusting to be honest. Also the toilets needed a bit more attending to as they were more 2 star than 4 star. Another thing that disappointed us was the food, which did not cater for Irish and UK guests. I understand we were in Spain though but even still I think even Spanish and Russians would be tired of chips and pasta every night!! Potatoes and rice would have at least added a bit of variety!!
