Gran Hotel La Hacienda, La Pineda, is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. They really make you feel welcome and at home. The reception staff have excellent English and excellent local knowledge. The restaurant staff work extremely hard but were always courteous and provided an excellent table service. The cleaning staff kept the bedrooms, and the hotel in general, sparkling clean.
The choice of food on the buffet breakfast and evening meals was good. Good selection, and plenty of it.
The bar had a good selection of both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, again served by very friendly staff.
The evening entertainment was not the best ever. To be fair when we stayed here it was at the season end, but karaoke is a desperate choice of entertainment at any time of the year. Apart from being antiquated, it was also overloud, which was unfair on other guests who were trying to get younger children to sleep.and this was to please a minority of guests (8-10) who sat in the cold to listen to it. On our last night here a local duo played a selection of Spanish favourites and they were really good. This was definitely the pick of the nightly entertainment and bought a more cultural feel to the holiday instead of the Dog and Duck noise from the previous nights.
The hotel has a nice swimming pool, though a bit on the small side, and football and tennis areas. It also caters well for children of all ages. << click here to read less |

Stayed all inclusive and found the selection of food excellent. bit of a pain using the card all week, but contrary to earlier reviews had no real problems with multiple orders etc.
The rooms where very clean and the maid service was very discreet, stayed on the top floor and got a bit of vertigo looking over the edge!!
Aircon worked all the time (as long as the room key card was in place) and the bathroom was spotless. only given one complimentary shampoo at the start of the week and it lasted about 2 days, but otherwise everything was ideal.
I found the staff very helpful and accomodating, even though english people where in the minority (mainly Spanish, French and Russian)
Breakfast ends a bit early and as such i missed the first couple (strictly 7-10) but i enjoyed all the food on offer (egg and chips, baby octopus hehe)
No real complaints about any aspect of the hotel, perhaps being picky if i mention that the night desk guy was a bit surly... :) << click here to read less |

What a difference a year makes. Went to this hotel June 2007 and loved it as it was so quiet and only 50% full. This year they have gone for all inclusive and it is full of all inclusive British Families. Gave up buying any drinks there as the queue was always very long as the all inclusives were continually queuing for free drinks. The drinks are more expensive then anywhere else in La Pineda. A beer from the bars on the beach were 2euros and the hotel they were 3.10 euros. I spoke to one lady who told me she paid 17 euros for a double gin and tonic and single gin and tonic. I suspect the prices have been put up to make up for the all inclusive guests. If you are a family wanting a holiday on a budget then this hotel is ideal for you. If you are a couple seeking a quiet holiday then steer away from this hotel. << click here to read less |

The Hacienda was a lovely hotel, it was clean the staff were friendly and polite. We were All Inclusive and the food was excellent with a wide range of different food every meal.
The only fault we could say was that as it was the end of the season there was nothing in Le Pineda for us to do and we had to go to nearby Salou as everything had already closed up for the season.
Also the hotel had very little entertainment on during the day and in the evening. << click here to read less |

Hotel was excellent, the rooms were very good, if there is only 2 of you then it would be excellent as there are two double beds in each room. Only we were 2 adults and 2 children, therefore the children shared the same beds!! The restaurant was nice, if you like seafood you would love it. The entertainment in the evening was average mainly catered for ballroom dancers!!! But if you like joining in with the daytime activities, these were good. Overall we had a great time!! << click here to read less |

A good quality 4 star hotel, Very clean and with good facilities. The Hotel is located on the outskirts of La Pineda, this means that you have to walk to find entertainment, or the beach, the bus service is frequent and stops outside the hotel. Entertainment is nearly always in spanish so we did not stay in any night. A variety of food is on offer, although the Cafeteria is not a place where you would want to sit and enjoy a meal, No music and the staff hover around waiting to clear your plate as soon as you have finished a course, I would visit the Hotel again, but I found the resort to be lacking in activities and caters mostly for retired pensioers from Spain. << click here to read less |

The entertainment ; kids club was totally in Spanish so my daughter didnt go and the bar ; waitress staff were not at all friendly. The hotel is a bit away from salou where you need to go to get a variety of restaurants and bars but there is a great bus service to ; from Salou! << click here to read less |

The money exchange facility only operates in high season which meant that I had to use the local bank for changing travellers cheques and subsequently paid high commission rates.
Overall 10/10. An excellent hotel more than worthy of it's 4* rating. << click here to read less |
