Our 14 year old Grand Daughter a notorious fussy eater always found something she liked at Breakfast,Lunch ; Dinner. Have stayed in the Jaime I hotel on many occasions and it is an ideal spot. It is right in the heart of all the shops and bars and is just about a 5 minute walk from the main beach! You can walk to the theme park from the hotel, this walk would take you about 15 minutes. The food in the hotel is ok, there is a wide variety of food available for each meal. Beware that at lunch and dinner you need to pay for your water, soft drinks and wine. But still worth it! During the summer months, there are activities for all age groups including a mini disco each night for the young children. There is also entertainment for adults. Would not let me have breakfast although i paid for it on a half board basis.
Room was dusty. Bath was dirty where it looked like the cleaner had emptied the mop bucket into the bath and forgot to clean it out.
Bed was faulty and shaky. Bedding was smelly and looked shabby.Had a blanket under my base sheet to bed as bed matteress was filthy.
Had to sleep in a single bed bed hubby on a very tight squeeze as was the only option.
No smoking in any of the rooms but was not really a problem to me. Smoking room sectioned off in main bar. However the hotel is huge and is perfect for families. Food was good not brilliant but good. Would book again but only on as a last resort option if need be.

The only instances of drunken stupidity were from the scots and they spoilt so much for everyone. Apart from that we enjoyed ourselves very much. PS. If you are going to Salou you must do the Safari Trip. Amust for children and adults because you will see Spain in all its glory up in the mountains. The views are incredible. One recommendation we would make is to have a small fridge in the room so as to keep drinks cold. Also, the beds were not as comfortable as we would have hoped. I will never use a travel agent again! this hotel is excellent value for money, I would say its nearer a 4 star than 3 we have traveled a lot so we've seen other hotels to compare. Rooms cleaned every day, friendly staff excellent entertainment, you can certainly see this hotels really tries hard to please. Ok foods a bit average, but what do you expect? is is a 3 star!I really don't agree with others negative comments and I think there been picky. Free off street parking, beach 5 mins away, perfect! The hotel had mixed nationalities Spanish, Portuguese, Argentinian,Italian .... all well behaved and smart, couples and families. Highly recommend and we will say here again... Rooms very dated maybe back in the late 70s early 80s even.The food was horrible but hey we didnt pay a kings ransom for the room so we just ate out. We had our two young children with us and they enjoyed both the outside and the inside pool (ages 2;5) having read some of the reviews before we left the only thing i have to say was the staff kept the spanish students in one section as to not disturb the guests.One or two of the english guests made up for them as they could make the same noise as 100 spanish students. All in all we would go there again we enjoyed the stay, the staff were nice but had very little english and didnt like to try to hard. Food hall was like feeding time at the zoo. But if you go with a open mind and your not paying the earth when in rome do as the romans.PS just a note there is a few late bars around the back of the dali building were we were staying can be loud but it seems only at the weekends (time of holiday 3rd week in may) << Click here to read less

After booking this break I read quite a few negative reviews about this hotel. I did not take much notice because having been all over in the past I have learnt that you cant please everyone, but unfortunately most of these reviews were correct! This hotel was very much aimed at the spanish and the french, the english were treated like 2nd class citizens, we were stuck on the top floor with lifts that were slower than a snails pace. The restaurant(if you can call it that, more like a school canteen) was like feeding time at the zoo! The only good point would be the bar staff who were very friendly but then you tip them! All in all I think the time of year could have had something to do with it, maybe in the height of the season there would be more british, but the hotel could certainly do with a refurb, a slap of paint wouldnt go a miss. Oh and by the way if you hire a car then be prepared to park away from the hotel or pay 10 euros a night which does not say on the hotel website!! << Click here to read less

A decent hotel where kids have a great time. Entertainment was none existant but it was early season. There are three pools outside and another heated pool inside. Facilities are better than most of the other three star hotels in Salou but the beds were not very comfortable. Camp type folding beds with wooden slats.
Food was quite good with a reasonable selection that should provide something for most tastes. Three dining rooms provide pleasant and relaxing service at meal times with staff efficient without being intrusive.
There is a grill area where your food can be cooked as you require. Drinks can be purchase from a drinks bar at reasonable prices. No pressure from waitresses at your table to purchase refreshments. Overall we had a relaxing break during our full board stay. Value for money and will definately return with the grandchildren.
The hotel caters quite well for disabled guests but the lifts are small and showing signs of abuse by previous guests but they are functional. << Click here to read less

After reading some other comments on line I felt like cancelling this hotel it is not at all like some of the comments I have read true the food is a bit bland after a week but after all they are catering for in excess of 1200 people so the menu does tend to be limited but it was fine and something for everyone the hotel staff where very pleasant the hotel was immaculately clean the pools where well maintained and the other services offered indoor pool sauna Turkish bath mini golf kids club etc where all well managed. We thought the Jaime I was great value for money although it did cater for the majority of spanish people. Most of the entertainment was in spanish and the reps never seemed to ask any of the english or other national's children to join in the kids club. The food was ok, but there was not much of a variety and there was not really a good menu for the children if you went to the restuarant after 9pm. Reception staff not very helpful and uniformed about not only the hotels facilities but the rsorts facilities. Food was cold with no variety from night to night on the buffet although the food served by chefs off the grill was very good. Hotel allowed people to reserve sunbeds with towels despite signs everywhere saying this was forbidden which meant unless you were at the pool bu 8.00am forget it. Outside pools were dirty with flies floating around them inside pool was spotless - dissapointing you had to pay by the hour to use it. Childrens playground looked fantastic but was closed for the length of our stay - my son was not happy about this. Plus side was the squash court which was never used except by us. The only concern was that when we got to reception and stood in a queue for 20 minutes we were told that we should have booked into the next block.This was a struggle down steps and through the swimming pool area.Here we had to queue again for 15 minutes.When we got to our room there was no air con.Upon request we were given a room with A/C.In hotel description it says that A/C is payable locally and I was not aware that only 200 rooms provide it.I am asthmatic and I chose this hotel thinking all rooms were equipped.I think that the block should be specified prior to departure.The reception is really busy and understaffed.Each visit averaged a 15 to 20 minute wait for service stould in a queue in a country where the word queue is not in their vocabulary.Other than the above everything was quite alright.MR R.SOUTHERN << Click here to read less

Lots of Spanish pensioners were on their subsidised holidays abd the hotel wsa geared up for their entertainment. The DJ/Kareoke played all Spanish music. This became boring after a few nights. The prices of drinks in the hotel were extortionate at ?10.80 for 2 weak Vodka and oranges. A lager cost ?4.40 and when bought with a Malibu and Lemonade there was no change from ?10.00 Caqr hire proved a pain as there was limited car parking and the hotel car park charged at ?10.00 a night with another ?50 deposit for the remote control for entrance gates.
The hotel has the makings of a great holiday destination but the entertainment has to be better. Perhaps later into the season this may improve. << Click here to read less

The only issue we had was the noise created by 2 different tours of students who were located in the rooms above us, it was unsettling for our babies at night. It may have made more sense to locate the students in ground floor rooms to help minimise the disturbance. The noise level at night from the upper floors was unacceptable, each night we had to report this to reception, and in some cases the noise continued until 1 AM. This hotel is not suitable for families with small children. This is only fault I can make about this hotel. << Click here to read less

the food was very basic and repetative and could have been warmer.We have a little boy in a wheelchair and there was not much wheelchair access from the main building to the pool area.THe lifts was only just big enough for his small wheelchair and two adults to squeeze in.Overall the holiday for what we paid was very good.We would not advise this hotel for anybody in a wheelchair unless more ramps are put in. << Click here to read less

sadly it seems the hotel has a contract to take spanish ; french school parties (teenagers)hence alot of noise in the early hours. Food was adequate but of poor quality ; not for the picky eater. On the good side facilities were good, indoor pool sauna etc ; staff were polite ; helpful.I dont think i would stay there for a main holiday. << Click here to read less
