We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I had my two children and sister with me and we got a great all inclusive deal. We were expecting less because of the price. The hotel was clean and had plenty for the children to do while we chilled out on the sunbeds beside the pool. The food was lovely and we only outside the hotel once. There was barside snacks most of the day and the children took advantage of this! Only downside was that the walls of the room were paper thin and we would hear everything from the rooms either side of us including loud snoring! But this would not stop me going there again. We picked this hotel as it is very central and was great value for money, We went for a night out in Salou during a stay with my parents who live an hour away. The hotel has a nice uncrowded pool area and the food was good, as long as you remember this hotel caters for the spanish- and their not known for having their food hot! But overall there was a good variety- dinner much better than lunch. We had a great time in salou and would definitely go back to this hotel. << click here to read less |

The only disappointing thing was booking in on the arrival at the hotel. We were told that we could access the room at 12.30pm and it was nearly 2.00pm by the time we actually had access which when you have had an early morning flight is not what you need. The entertainment was average but we were close enough to bars outside the hotel so this was not really a problem. << click here to read less |

Very pleased with the hotel as I can't fault them with any of the service we got as the service from staff and the cleanliness of the room were to a very high standard.
I would suggest that the kids club be improved as to take in activities in the afternoon as its closed in the mornings until 8 o'clock in the night.
I would suggest a few more toys in the Kids Room apart from the play dough and crayons for colouring that are already there.
Apart from the above, I would have no reservation about staying in the hotel again. << click here to read less |

This rooms were very basic but clean. The pool area was not very big and in peak season it would be difficult to get a lounger. The food was poor and I stuck with the salad everyday. During the day you can only get crisps from the bar and have to go into town to get other snacks or food. The location of the hotel is very close to the main area so there is alot of noise from people levaing the bars through the night but the up side is that its only a short walk to the bars/shops and beach. Overall the hotel was good for the money we paid and the staff were all very friendly. I would stay here again but would only pay for the room and eat out in the town. << click here to read less |

Rooms are basic, no hairdryer and are a bit small, but for a short break this hotel is ideal. Got a swimming pool, which has a lift guard on duty every day, lots of entertainment for all ages. The daily breakfast was quite poor, but this was more than compensated by the dinner. What a nice selection of fish, meat and fruit.

We returned from our holidays to salou nearly two weeks ago. Salou is an absolutly beautifull. But unfortunatly the same cant be said for the santa monica playa hotel. We were told on web site before that hotel had air conditioning what you didn't say was that it didn't begin untill June 15th. We arrived on June 9th.You can understand how frustrating this was with a young child and the heat over there. The room was tiny for a family of 3. It was clean but handle on bathroom door kept looking so we either could't get in or were looked in. Had to keep ringing reception. The food in the hotel was the worst i ever saw or smelt in my life. The smell comming from the resurant was so bad our 3 year old daughter commented on it. It was freezing cold and looked like left overs from previous day. We heard alot of people complain about all these problems so i know it wasn't just us. For those reasons we could not eat in hotel and had to send for money from home. The reason we booked hotel was because meals were included. Also when i booked room i asked about a fridge. I t took untill a few days before we went to confirm there was none which left it to late for us to cancel and book some where else. I think you should forward this on to the hotel to let them know how dissapointed we were and to inform them we will be letting others know how we feel. << click here to read less |

visited from the 14/06/07- 21/06/07 and read the reviews after id booked so was a little worried. however didnt find any particular worries. the reception and bar staff were very good, the rooms were clean. the food could have had more variation at times but then again have had worse.the pool was clean. the location was ok although on quite an incline( not good if you have mobility problems). many of the spanish people and school children were also staying here at time of visit but presented no problems. though the english boys in the next room were the noisest of the lot, though think this was nipped in the bud by the reception and security and doesnt appear to be a hotel used generally by the young. although several bars and a club are in close proximity. if you are someonewho likes to stay in the hotel for the entertainment this hotel isnt for you, as there basically little of it so over all for the price we paid, although you could have paid a lot more on other sites, it was good value. hope this is a little help !! << click here to read less |

Entertainment was also geared towards Spanish ; daytime entertainment for kids was virtually nil..

Your multi-lingual morning/aftn/evening staff were highly professional, courteous ; well-informed. The meals were decent enough for the large number of guests there. I only wished I could've stayed longer.

This hotel is spotlessly clean, the reception staff were friendly and helpful and the location is close to the beach ; shops. The nearby pub, Charlie Chaplin's, attracted a lot of large student groups when we were there (April 2006) and the noise levels were very high, but outside the control of the hotel. Most of the guests were elderly Spanish visitors, so the hotel entertainment was geared mostly towards their preferences (dancing/bingo/talent show), although as we were leaving we noticed that a kid's club and more generic 'shows' were being incorporated in the programme. All in all, a lovely hotel, food was OK (typical of large Spanish hotel), and staff were great.
