About the Hotel Calypso
Hotel Calypso is ideally situated in the Levante area of Benidorm and it is a residence for about 650 people. Nearest to the hotel is the Motorway, while the airport Alicante (55Km), Alicante train station ( 45Km), Benidorm train station (3Km) and bus station (? km) are also at the near distance.
The onsite restaurant of the hotel supplies only buffet style meals, catering various dining options for the guest to taste. Meanwhile you also can relish your selves at the well-lit bars. Refresh your day with a swim and sunbathe on the sun terrace or join the entertainment programme at the second bar, which is with a large seating area.
Hotel facilitates a Laundromat and a 24-hour reception service at guest's disposal. Both the children and adults can enjoy at the terrace-bar or children's playground. Offsite of the hotel supplies, facial treatments, hydrotherapy treatments, sun bed, sauna, steam, Jacuzzi and a spa pool. Well-appointed gymnasium is also available offsite. Car park is at onsite for guest's convenience.
The 296 air-conditioned rooms are ideally appointed with, cable TV, hairdryer, mini bar, private bath, telephone and safe. The guestrooms are comfortable and assure a quality stay. There's a lift onsite.

On first impressions this Hotel is immaculately clean and all staff are friendly. The rooms are slightly smaller than expected and dont have much wardrobe/drawer space but on the upside they are nicely decorated with comfy beds and include a safe, fridge and plasma screen TV that has English Channels such as BBC1, ITV, Sky News, True Movies etc...(very rare to get ITV in a hotel here so that was a bonus)! You need to leave a deposit if you want access to the remote control though. The bathroom again is quite small and shaped at an angle but plenty of hot water and clean towels, maid service everyday.
The Food is varied and very tasty, and again the Restaurant Area is very clean with plenty of space. We had to call upon a waiter each time for drinks which were reasonably priced.
Our Balcony faced onto the street opposite Morgans Tavern Cabaret Bar which is one of the best spots around with some great shows including We Wil Rock You Queen Tribute and Comedienne Crissy Rock, which incidentally is where they film the Benidorm Series (aka Neptunes Bar).
As said in previous reviews the Calypso is frequented by the older generation, as is the Hotel Entertainment but we never bothered to stay for that as the Strip has much more to offer...other spots to try are Stardust and Rockerfellas for the best of the best. << click here to read less

I have been to many of the servigroup hotels and this is the best to date,very conveniently situated for the popular bars and restaurents and 2 mins from beach.my room was very compact but had everything you could want in it from fridge,twin beds ,bath/shower,haidryer,desk,and nice size flat screen tele, bonus being this is the first hotel i have found in benidorm that had itv,and bbc 1,along with english film channels.
the food was more than satisfying with selection to suit every one.
my only minor critiscism wasthe rather jelly like matress on the bed that was a little challenging to stay on,but all in all a good value hotel that i would not hesitate to stay in again. << click here to read less

just returned from benidorm.stayed at callypso hotel.been to benidorm on numerous occasions and stay in 4* hotels.this hotel should be rated 4* as it is if not better than any 4* which i have stayed at before.only one complaint,if your are not a ballroom dancers then you have to leave the hotel and go outside for entertainment,we wouldnt have minded a couple of night for them to change the music.otherwise could not fault the hotel at all.will certinly be going back. << click here to read less

We think the Calypso Hotel is one of the best in Benidorm, nice reception, very nice entertainment lounge, nice swimming pool and sunbathing area plus drinks bar,nice bedrooms but all of the air condiition units in the bedrooms of the annex require dismantleing and cleaning out, they have not been cleaned out from when people where allowed to smoke in the bedrooms. Also the lift kept in the annex kept breaking down which is not very good for the disabled.
