The breakfast however was not so good. reasonable choice but all "hot" food was only tepid and surprisingly no bacon. Staff are very friendly. As always in Barcelona bewaer of pick pockets. We were originally given a room on the ground floor overlooking a courtyard. This room was very dark, stuffy and hot and was in a part of the hotel which was being renovated so it was also noisy and dusty. However, we requested to be moved to a different room and were given a lovely light and airy room on the fourth floor and were delighted with it. The hotel is in the middle of the gothic quarter and is ideally located for the marina, the Ramblas, the shops and is a perfect location as a sightseeing base. Ample buffet breakfast in the basement dining area set us up for each day. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Read Less |

We stayed at the Rialto in March this year and were impressed enough to return in November. Our room, this time, was smaller with a frosted window overlooked a lightwell, so only had a view of other bedroom windows. The soundproofing is not good, but most of the guests were not too noisy in the early hours. I would hate to stay over Friday and Saturday, as I expect there are many stag and hen weekends taking place then. The hotel is still being renovated. The work starts at 8am and stops about 7pm, but I doubt if many visitors would be in their rooms for long during this period.
The breakfast is plentiful, covering every taste. Reception is very smart and the staff are helpful, although not very friendly.
The location is supberb. It is in the middle of the old quarter, with the Ramblas, gothic cathedral and two metro stations only a stroll away. Read Less |

The staff at the Rialto held on to my bag for nearly 2 weeks before the airline sorted out the mistake. I was so amazed by their courteous and helpful manner. They really helped me out in with this situation. Read Less |

We were assured it was the only one available, the air conditioning was very poor and due to the confined space it was very difficult to breath during the night. The bathroom also was very small barely room to turn round. Although we prefer a central location it is doubltful we will risk using the Rialto again. Ideal location for Las Ramblas etc. Only downside, was the noise from outside, maybe double glazing may have helped. But then the hotel is on a busy street. Also anytime anyone had a shower it sounded like it was coming from the room next to us. But as we were on the first floor, this may have been due to the plumbing.
