We stayed for 2 nights, all 11 of us ladies to celebrate my 50th birthday. The hotel is central to the beach, Ramblas train station and open top bus route. Perfect for a brief visit to the City. The walls are thin, the rooms are a little small but clean and adequate for a city break.. I would stay again, the breakfast is okay too, better than usual I normally grab a piece of toast but enjoyed ham ; cheese and bacon ; eggs! The reception staff were very helpful to us non spanish speaking ladies booked restaraunts and taxis for us.
The hotel bar is a little unwelcoming, the staff stacking chairs and closing metal shutters to make us leave and we were just going out! I cannot wait to go back though with my husband hopefully soon to see more! << Click here to read less

We first checked into an old room that had not yet been refurbished (the hotel is currently renovating) and this was lacking natural daylight and situated near the building works so was very noisy.
On requesting to move rooms we were pleased that the reception staff were happy to oblige and moved us as soon as a room was available (after 12pm check out). We left our luggage and when we returned after a day in the city we were pleased with our new, refurbished room with a view over the square outside.
Overall the hotel is in an excellent location - 2 minutes from Barceloneta mtro station and 10 minutes walk from La Rambla. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel bar was very reasonably priced with a friendly barman. We would definately recommend this hotel and will no doubt return here on any future trips to the city. << Click here to read less

Breakfast was ok. no fruit available! We found the staff at reception very friendly and helful. Would recommend to a friend but beware of building noise from approx 9am to 6p.m. E.C. We booked a double superior room and where given a room on the second floor, we took the lift up and found we could not get out of the lift due to building work on the second floor,(we where not informed of any work being carried out at the hotel) so we had to come back to the reception and go up the back way. our room was at the front of the hotel and we had a view of the air con units,the room was small and cramped and was not one off the rooms featured on there web site.The room was clean and tidy and found the reception and other staff very friendly and only to willing to help,which is what we needed on Saturday after a disturbed night sleep due to the noise outside the hotel ie traffic etc.i asked if there was another room at the rear of the hotel available and within 5 minutes we had been given another room which was also on the second floor but we accepted this as there was no work going on over the weekend,the room was still one of the old rooms but we got use to that.The hotel is in a great location right next to the port and in easy reach of the Ramblas,i would recommend this hotel to others and when the building work is complete it will be a very good hotel for the prices quoted << Click here to read less

Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke very good English, rooms were clean if not a little basic.
Overall very good value for the price, breakfast was also quite basic but did have selections for different nationality's.

However..we had the worst room ever on the most recent visit; very small and quite shabby. The noise from the refurbishment on the floor above was very loud and continued for most of the day - even though we were not in our room much of the day, it was very loud when we were! I'd recommend a superior room at the front of the hotel, as far away from the noise as possible! The staff are generally friendly and there's a guy who's worked on reception for years who is lovely. Situated close to the heart of Barca (the Ramblas) but just far enough away so as not to be 'on top' of things, plus only a 5 min walk from the beautiful beach area ; marina, this hotel was perfect. OK so the room was on the small side but it was clean and functional - what more do you need on a short stay? With breakfast included I couldn't want for more for the price. 1) Your breakfast is not exactly appetising; you could do much better... besides, playing Guantanamera for 7 consecutive times (!) on the dining-room background music may seem to be a bit too much... -:)
2) Fixing a room problem (leaking toilets in this case) should not take too long to fix or replace room...

Well, if you are interested in collecting wierd ones - you might as well do it. Earplugs are essential - the cleaning ladies love their early morning shouting chats at the corridors. Don't ask the directions from the stuff - they have no idea what they are talking about - use the map. We had a superior double bed room - the size of it and a bathroom fascilities are tolerable enough for the little more money. We were much happier with our next room - bright and airy and even though it did look over a noisy building site, we were not worried as we were were there for site seeing so were not in the hotel very much. We found the staff friendly and helpful and not without humour. The location was perfect with RENFE mainline for the airport 3 minutes one way and barceloneta metro stop the other. This was the worst hotel room I had ever been in. We would have prefered for our room to have been quieter both internally and externallY. The windows were not adequate enough to prevent the horrendous traffic noise especially at night. Noise inside the hote was not much better my neighbour coughed constantly during the night and i could hear it as loud as if we were in the same room. Very pleasant hotel in great location. Our room was one of refurbished rooms but more rooms were in the process of being upgraded during our stay. Found Reception staff very helpful. If you come out of the hotel turn right walk over the main road then up the tiny road next to the irish bar you are in a very nice shopping and eating area. I would recommend the hotel to every one. It's a ok place if you're in and out of BCN for one or two nights. Close to Barceloneta (beach) and the trainstation. "Barato".

Good location and extremely easy access by bus and rail from airport, some nice quality restaurants nearby and close to marina etc. Wouldn't rate taste quality of breakfast fare but rooms were clean and air condiioned, the ensuite facilities fine and staff friendly. A good budget hotel located about 10 mins walk from Barceloneta Beach and 10 mins the other way from Las Ramblas; the gothic quarter is even closer. Just around the corner from the train station that links to the airport and around the other corner from Barceloneta metro station. Some rooms in the hotel have been recently refurbished and are better than the older rooms which are quite small. We had an older room which was just about adequate - small room and small bathroom - but we were out exploring most the time. Cleaning staff were excellent; reception staff were generally good apart from one was really arrogant and not particularly helpful. Continental breakfast was good, plenty there and served until 10.30am. Also have a bar available that serves snacks. Good budget hotel in a very good area. << Click here to read less

First impression of the hotel was very favourable: I and my friend were given our room ahead of time and after travelling all night, it was indeed a great relief. Also, the hotel had no problems keeping our luggage in safekeeping after our stay was over (also night flight). In general, the reception and breakfast personnel was very polite and helpful and they made our stay pleasurable.
The location of the hotel between the Barceloneta beach and trendy El Born area was also great. Short walking distance to everywhere. Metro entrance just around the corner. There was a lot of traffic noise outside, since there are busy streets nearby. I myself needed earplugs at night, my friend didn't, so I guess only light sleepers are bothered by the noise. We didn't have any noisy neighbours though.
The room was a standard hotel room, but clean. Plenty of fresh towels and daily cleaning. Breakfast was also plentiful. We missed fresh fruits, but otherwise all we needed was there.
All in all, we were happy to stay at Oasis Hotel and can recommend it further. I will probably book the same hotel next time I will be in Barcelona. << Click here to read less

Very convenient hotel for transport to and from airport- about 4 minutes walking time from RENFE main line railway station and two minutes from METRO station.Tourist areas e.g. Las Ramblas, Gotic Quarter ,Catalunya Plaza,Port Vell, Aquarium,Maremagnum, and other places all easily reached on foot (and we're senior citizens).All in all we liked the hotel. Very good budget hotel. Only compalaints are as follows. Firstly was the noise I could hear from other rooms as the insulation between rooms seemed very poor. I had bathrooms either side of me and could hear exactly what was going on! I could also clearly hear conversations. Secondly at breakfast it would have been nice if there was real butter and orange juice instead of margarine and reconsituted juice. Otherwise it was fine for the price and very well place for sight seeing etc. Also there is now a direct connection from the airport to the station near the hotel, whcih was only a few minutes walk away which made transfer very easy. << Click here to read less

Sleazy room, not at all like photos on net. Our "double" had the bed pushed against the wall so one of us had to crawl over the other. Even then, there was no space left to walk. There was no dresser. No place at all to put the luggage. Only one light in the entire room -- a very dim bulb in it. Bathtub was tiny. Couldn't even sit in it. Hotel personnel seemed to get a kick out of absuing Brits and Americans. Lots of people were complaining and the staff just grinned. Net talked about balconies and big rooms; all we got was a closet with no amenities whatsoever. If you really want to know, we took photos and would be happy to send them to you. We'll be looking at your updated comments on this hotel to see if you revise your listing to accurately reflect what is on offer. << Click here to read less

Really enjoyed our stay. Helped by the friendly atmosphere and staff. The new rooms are very nice indeed. The older ones are OK. Unfortunately, although advertising a "Restaurant" they do not in fact have one any longer. I would highly recommend this hotel to any of my friends. Mainline station 5 minutes walk. Bus route 1 minute walk. and just 5 minutes walk to "La Rambla".
