Four of us visited Barcelona from 25th Aug - 29th Aug and found the Hotel very good for the price. It was really central and the staff were very friendly and most helpful. We got the airport shuttle bus direct to Catalunya Square and were able to walk the short distance to the hotel. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona. Read Less

Hotel location could not have been better, right in the heart of La Rambla, but in a quiet side street. There are rooms with a view, our view was of the room opposite, but we only used the room to sleep in. Breakfast was good with as much to eat as you wanted. Have to reguest a remote for the tv. Would use this hotel again. Read Less

They had a bar but it was never open - would have been nice in the evening before we went out. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel has recently been refurbished to a good standard and nicely decorated. Rooms would have benefited from tea and coffee making facilities etc.
Only problem was the noise level - you can hear people showering in the rooms next to you, doors shutting, people walking in the corridor etc.
Location was excellent - 30 second walk from La Ramblas and close to a shopping quarter (including Zara, Mango, H&M etc), bus stops and tube, taxi rank. Approx 20 min walk to the beach/port. Read Less

If a few nights next to La Rambla is what you want this is spot on.With Catalunya square for all train and Metro connections just a few hundred yards away it couldn't be better located.The street is quiet on a night, as we were there during La Merce festival, lasting 4 days,this was a welcome haven from the noise from pop concerts and the street entertainers on La Rambla.
The room was not large but had a good bed, large double wardrobe, TV and an unusually large bathroom.This was great, with a bidet, shower/bath, toilet and wash basin, made the room a great base to explore the city.
The breakfast wasn't great but edible. It's the usual continental style food with a good selection of cereals,fuit and yoghurts, and as much tea and coffee as you can drink.
Difficult to fault for the money, we were very pleased with the hotel. Read Less

This is a hotel that does not deserve its 3 star ranking. When we checked in--we had made our reservations almost 5 months in advance--we specified that we would like a window to the outside, instead we were given a windowless inside room. A rugby team which registered just before us, got the rooms with windows and a view. When we tried to go elsewhere, the Nouvel would not refund our deposit. I would urge people to stay away from this place, we ignored posted warnings, and chose it because of its location. It does have a good location, but it is unpleasant place to stay. The staff was not helpful with us in our efforts to find compromises acceptable to both sides. Although it advertises itself as a three star hotel, a one star designation would be more appropriate.

Excellent hotel, ideally situated in the Gothic quarter just off La Rambla. Very large room and HUGE bathroom. We were on the 5th floor but also had a fairly large roof terrace with table and chairs. Our friend's room didn't have a terrace but still a large, airy room. Highly recommended. Read Less

We had read various reports good and bad of the hotel but our own opinion is that the location was fantastically central and the food and service provided was excellent. The rooms were well equipped, the only thing we would have liked would have been tea/coffee making facilities in the room but with plenty of local amenities it did not spoil our break. We would rebook through roomsnet.com. We hope to return in the future and would definitely stay in the same hotel. Read Less

Sadly lack of space to say more, my experience in a 3 star hotel in Spain. Here they are:
1, No fridge, drinking water provided in a room, hot breakfast meal was the worst. I was so frighten to go for hot breakfast in this hotel. They provide very poor quality compare to the price I paid for about #600/week. The cost of breakfast is only a few pounds per guest. This make me feel that the ownder is only interested in taking money, not interested in customer retention. I never trust a 3 star hotel in Spain ever again.
2. Staff never smile. Breakfast time till 10. am. I went about 9.30 am for breakfast, just to have a fresh pear. They use UHT milk from cartons. Cold milk is not chilled, hot milk is not hot temp. lowere than 40C. Fruits, they have peach, pineapple from tin, not even chilled. Sausage was a bones minced mixed with flour. Even a dog wouldn't enjoy. I decided not to give a tip to staff. I will tell another 1,000s people. Read Less

Airconditioning is very, very poor. Breakfast is also extremely poor quality, we ended up eating out of the hotel.
On the good points, location is very good, but there are other real 3 starts hotels in the area if I go again to Barcelona. Read Less
