We booked this hotel as a one night pre-cruise stay, basically for the price and location. I was not expecting to much as there seemed to be some very poor reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in an excellent central location just a few minutes walk to the las Ramblas main boulevard. There are plenty of cafe's and bars in the near vicinity. The rooms were sparse but a good size and clean. The breakfast was again good with a nice selection and restaurant. The only down side to the hotel was the street noise at night.. but hey if you want peace and quiet then dont stay in a city centre. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would consider this hotel again if we wanted another break in Barcelona. << click here to read less |

Hotel is very basic, it has a good situation near by metro and busstops. Rooms are clean but the showerroom needs reparations - showwerdoor is hanging off and there is some rust on the irons. But if you stay only some hours per day its all right.
Breakfast is continental whit stuffs but why it is every day the same in the same order. overall i will order this hotel again and recomend it to my friends. When you order the room ask to get it on the top floor and to the backyard - then you may have good scenes to the city and no noice from the mainstreet. The American / Canadian guy being by far the most helpfull. Parking was a real bonus ; relatively inexpensive. Should have been told on check in that the room safe........in every room....does not work ; the only way you can secure valuables is by registering with Reception (Free of charge) but not without a bit of hassle......All things considered this is a good place to stay ; go to the adjoining bar / restaurant. Very pleased with this hotel. We only stayed one nite (Saturday 21st June) as we were going on cruise the next day but found staff very helpful. We were returning to Barcelona a week later (Sunday 29th June) at 7 am and as our flight home was not until 8pm on the Sunday night, I asked the hotel if we could leave our luggage with them on the 29th to enable us to visit the sights in Barcelona. We were made very welcome with an English speaking member of staff who was pleasant and helpfull also forthcoming with information from questions that were asked, instead of the blank stare that you can sometimes recieve.

Having got the accomadation so cheap i was a little dubious as to what the hotel would be like but over all it was a great stay.
The hotel and staff are very pleasent.
The room itself, while not being the biggest, was clean and made every day, the bathroom was also quite small but had a power-shower which was nice and we were given plenty of fresh towels daily.
It all we wanted really, a comfortable stay that suited our needs.
The area is also very handy and is just a 5 minute walk from the main tourist area ( the La Ramblas) and from the beautiful marina and port area.
For a winters break this hotel was ideal.

Very tasty and good breakfast. That's the good thing. Bad thing is that you cant really enjoy your stay because you can hear your neighbours walking and talking, and they (of course) can hear you! Not much to say about the room - it was OK - basic but OK. The reason I wont stay in this hotel again is that there is no smoking area! You have to go outside - on the street to have your cigarette. Breakfast basic but as much as you liked.
Resturant/cafe ajoining, food and staff also good. One waiter very memorable for his speed and love of his job and his welcome for us whenever we entered.
Position of the hotel could not be better as it was right next to the metro line and the funicular to Monjuic, 5 mins from the harbour and the same from the Ramblas.
We have passed all your info on to others already and would certainly come again.

When we checked in we were allocated room 421.......if you are ever given this room run for your life. It was a closet with a bed slightly bigger than a single but supposedly a double. We looked for a new room straight away but none were available until the following day. When we were moved at least the new room had a window which opened but the bed was still as bad. The a/c or safety deposit box didn't work in either room. While no city centre european hotels are ever fantastic without paying a fortune for them this one took the biscuit. << click here to read less |

A nice hotel if somewhat large but catering for a wide age range of guests which is always good. The choice of food was extensive and having chefs on hand was an added bonus. The staff worked hard but there was a lack of holiday atsmosphere at times. We were impressed by the nice young man who looked after the poolside. In other 4 star hotels we have stayed in there was a plentiful supply of toiletries and free water which was very lacking in Andalucia Plaza and would make such a difference. The room was very simple, but cleaned everyday with new towels and bedsheets. The shower wasn't that great but worked all the same. There was only one english channel on the TV and the road the hotel was on was VERY busy therefore very noisy. Breakfast was great and the staff were friendly. The location of the hotel was well suited to out needs and within walking distance of La Rambles, although we do think that we were in the red light district was was sometimes scary on the way home!! The taxi from the airport was Euros 15 and going to the airport Euros 24, not quite sure where the extra came from! All in all a good hotel that I would recommend for a cheap break away.
