The location, whilst on the edge of Eixample, was very pleasant with the beautiful Hospital de la SantaCreu i de Sant Pau ( Hospital Sant Pau) right next door in its lovely gardens and the Sagrada Familia in walking distance.. if youre keen! The shop and cafe prices around were not tourist-modified. Although they charged E16.00 for breakfast (not included in my prive) there was a cafe just up the road offering latte and a croissant for E2.00! The room was clean and modern but very small and the only natural light was from a window opening into a narrow courtyard so it was always dark but I was mostly there at night anyway. The bathroom was brand new and very good but if you shave with water you will need to remember one of those handy travel sink plugs! The light level in my room could have been a bit brighter by the bed. The staff were excellent, always friendly, excellent English and eager to please. The bed was very comfortable and to my delight the wireless connection worked in my room ( as I was only on the second floor) and was free.. otherwise you had to go into the lobby to connect or use the their free computer downstairs.

This hotel was great value for money and the rooms and hotel in general were up to a very good standard. All rooms were air-conditioned and the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. while the immediate area was not the best in terms of tourist interests there is a metro very close by and the centre of Barcelona was just 10 minutes away. I would definitely reccommend this hotel to anyone.
