My friend and I booked this hotel at the last minute for a weekend trip to Barcelona. The price was a little high ($250 USD/night), but the location was fantastic. The hotel is a quick walk to Las Ramblas, and Placa Catalunya where the hop-on-hop-off bus picks up/drops off. The hotel was room was decorated in a modern/minimalist fashion, and the bathroom was updated with a great steam shower.
If you are flying into Girona and taking the bus to Barcelona, the taxi fare from Estacio Del Nord (the bus station) to the hotel is only 8 Euro. If the receptionist with the blond hair asks if she can call you a cab, you're better off finding one on the street. When she called one for us, it was her friend and he charged us over double what the normal fare is. Also the receptionist with the blond hair said that the area the hotel is in is gay at night, and all the clubs are for men, which I don't know is true or not. We saw groups of guys and girls out at night.
I would reccomend this hotel b/c of the great location. It felt like we were in the center of the city, without a lot of noise. A comparable hotel is the H10 Universitat Hotel--it's a few blocks away and looked about the same as the Hotel Advance. More >> |
